Six workshops are offered by five renowned instructors this year. A mix of technique, combo, choreography, and props! Workshops take place on Saturday and Sunday at Studio C at Maison pour la danse de Québec located at 336 Rue du Roi, Québec, QC, Canada.

Haza

A choreographer and teacher for over 15 years, Haza is a creative dancer with a strong, feminine vision. She has developed a unique style with a distinctive movement vocabulary at the crossroads of waving, contemporary dance, and fusion bellydance.
Through her creations, performances, and workshops, she sensitively explores themes related to femininity and the authenticity of movement. Her teaching is a rich and stimulating source of creativity. Founder of Compagnie Sora and co-organizer of the Ethnik Season and Fusion Flow festivals in France, she also shares her approach in retreats and workshops blending dance, yoga, and rituals, both in France and internationally.
Her work, nourished by dance, yoga, and energy practices, is rooted in an intuitive, creative, and therapeutic approach. She particularly supports women in a profound reconnection to their bodies, movement, and heritage, notably through her project "La Lignée" (The Lineage).
Her choreographic research draws on traditions while reinventing them, revealing the power, graphic staging, sensitivity, and transformation of bodies in motion, all imbued with poetry.

Catherine De Sève

With 28 years of experience, Catherine De Sève began her career in oriental dance, cabaret, and folklore before ultimately embracing fusion dance. Both locally and internationally, she is renowned for her unique and flamboyant style! A creative choreographer and teacher, her approach is driven by a genuine love of dance.
She teaches dance, as well as stage makeup and the creation of headdresses and costumes. She is the founder, artistic director, and choreographer of the "Tribal Roses" troupe, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary this year.
Catherine contributes to the international recognition of the Quebec dance scene by participating in major events such as Tribal Fest in California, as well as festivals in France (Bounce to the Moon and Festribal) and on the French Riviera (Festiv'al Shimmy), to name just a few. Blending mysticism with touches of humor, she crafts a rich and distinctive artistic universe.

Marthyna

Martine Jetté, known by her stage name Marthyna, discovered belly dance in 1997 and quickly made it a true language of expression. A leading figure in the Canadian belly dance community, she has particularly distinguished herself in tribal, fusion, and Turkish styles. A pioneer of the ISG (Synchronized Group Improvisation) tribal style, she explores belly dance and its fusions with passion, rigor, and creativity.
Recipient of several awards in competitions in Quebec and Ontario, Marthyna has also actively contributed to the dissemination and discussion surrounding bellydance. She has been a columnist for the specialized magazines Papyrus, Gilded Serpent, and Hafla, and a speaker at the prestigious International Bellydance Conference of Canada (IBCC).
A renowned teacher, she founded her own dance school in Saint-Basile-le-Grand in August 2004, where she shares her artistic and humanistic approach to dance. She is also the author of several instructional DVDs, demonstrating her desire to share her knowledge internationally.
Since 2012, Marthyna has been the artistic director of the Les Shuvanies dance troupe, guiding its development and artistic vision. She also created and organized the large-scale event Tribalement vôtre for ten editions, now run by a group of dancers from province of Quebec. Finally, she holds a Creativity Coach certification from the Canadian Coaching Alliance, an asset that enriches and supports her artistic and pedagogical approach.

Jill Otter

Jill Otter is a versatile artist specializing in neobellydance and Indian dances, and has been certified in the FatChanceBellydance® style since 2019. A dance teacher for over 15 years, she is known for her attention to detail, positive approach, musicality, and imagination. She is always enthusiastic about sharing her fascination with choreographic creation. Her pieces, sometimes moving, sometimes playful, draw inspiration from life, folklore, or simply whimsical ideas.
Based in Quebec City, Canada, she most often performs as a soloist, with Kateya at historical reenactment events, or with her student fusion group, "Almaya". She is also involved in the organizing committee of the Tribalement vôtre - Tribally Yours fusion festival in Quebec.
Other highlights: In 2018, she was a guest fusion judge at Raks Québec, part of the Quebec bellydance competitions. Internationally, she won first place in the bollywood professional solo category and the audience choice award at the Digital Dance Collective in 2020, followed by a gold medal in the professional solo category at the Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival of Athens in 2024, the largest festival of its kind in Europe.

Jing He

Passionate about dance since childhood, Jing He considers movement a language that allows her to express emotions and connect body and mind. Her journey is guided by a constant search for fluidity, meaning, and authenticity in movement.
Originally from the Xiangxi region of Hunan province in China, she is inspired by a land rich in cultural traditions. She is Miao (an ethnic minority in China), and this identity deeply nourishes her artistic world. Professionally trained in Chinese dance, she has developed a holistic approach that integrates various elements: foundational work inspired by ballet, Chinese folk dance, the fundamentals of classical Chinese dance, as well as body work and expression (shen yun 身韵).
Having arrived in Quebec at the end of 2018, she obtained her permanent resident status in 2021. She continued her training with advanced studies at the École de danse de Québec before turning to dance teaching. Today, she runs her own teaching space, Jing Dance Space, where she offers classes for children and adults. Her teaching emphasizes body awareness, breathwork, fluidity, and artistic expression. She pays particular attention to the fundamental elements of Chinese dance, such as breathwork, circular movements, and the connection between body and intention (shen yun 身韵). She also organizes performances, notably for the Chinese New Year.
