Marthyna
Martine Jetté, aka Marthyna, fell in love with Belly Dance in 1997. She has become a prominent figure in the belly dance community in Canada, focusing on Tribal, Fusion, and Turkish dance, different styles she is passionate about. Recipient of several awards in Quebec and Ontario, she has been a columnist for Belly dance magazines : Papyrus, Gilded Serpent, and Hafla. She has been a speaker at the prestigious IBCC Canada Conference. She opened her own dance school in Saint-Basile-le-Grand in August 2004. She has several teaching DVDs to her credit. Marthyna is a pioneer in tribal-style belly dance in ISG (Synchronised Group Improvisation) and has organized the prestigious Tribally Yours for 9 editions. It is now possible to follow her on Patreon in addition to other classes and coaching services.

Isabelle Hubert
For over 15 years, Isabelle has been part of the Trois-Rivières dance duo Tribu Ghabal with her partner Audrey Hivon. This project is the culmination of her journey and her greatest passion! In 2012, Manon Charlebois joined their path and they co-founded Kateya. Together, they merge world dances and collaborate with local artists. Dance is her preferred medium to communicate within herself and reach out to others with sensitivity, vulnerability, and openness.

Julie Therrien
Julie Therrien is one of the original members of Marthyna & Les Shuvanies, with whom she danced for 13 years. Known for her rigor, elegance, and perfectionism, she brought her unique style to the troupe. She hung up her coinbelt in 2020 but continues to support the dance community in various ways.

Geneviève Martin
Geneviève began Belly Dance in 2004 with Eiram at L’École l’Être en Danse where she was able to explore classical styles. She was hooked on Fusion Dance when participating in Tribally Yours in 2011. She joined Marthyna Belly Dance school in 2012 and explored Fusion Styles, synchronized group improvisation, Turkish folklore and more. She was selected to join Marthyna & Les Shuvanies in 2016. She designs magnificent costumes in addition to participating in the troupe’s creations, whether choreographic or for the troupe’s image. Geneviève is an enthusiastic and creative artist. Belly Dance is a means of self-expression and an escape into imagination.

Audrey Hivon
Audrey, known for her work with Tribu Ghabal and Kateya, has been training in and teaching various Middle Eastern and Central Asian dances for over 25 years. She is a dancer who cherishes the present moment through improvisation (ISG, FCBD, Persian FIK) which she usually performs with live music. Audrey's choreographies include cathartic elements allowing her to express through movement emotions that are otherwise difficult to communicate. Building bridges between artists and cultures is also a central element of her approach. She embodies a captivating journey following the Silk Road!

Jill Otter
Jill Otter is a passionate admirer of Indian dance and is a certified FatChanceBellyDance® Style instructor since 2019. She is particularly drawn to the classical and folk styles of India, as well as the vibrant and creative vocabulary of neobellydance. She has been teaching across the province since 2010, renowned for her detailed explanations, positive attitude, wacky stance, and pedagogical skills. She is always eager to share her fascination with movement and expression. Based in Quebec City, Canada, she performs most often as a soloist, with Kateya or her group Almaya. On stage, Jill is known for her mesmerizing, refined, and precise performances, her originality, and her presence.
